  2. I am a background researcher for The Dot.

The setting, in my opinion is timeless. The character and the moral of the story could be during any time period and could occur anywhere in the world, in any kind of school and at any grade level. The setting could even be outside of an educational setting.

Since there is no specific time period, what can I research? I could research other books that have the same underlying "message" as an option. Therefore, that is what I will attempt to do.

  4. Vashti grabbed a marker and gave the paper a good strong jab.
    “There”

I like this line in the story because it is very expressive.

“Just make a mark and see where it takes you.”

I like this line in the story because the teacher is being very patient.

    Can you hear me?

  6. The Dot is timeless and applicable to all readers and listeners. The idea of accomplishment is related to individual perception and we can influence, positively or negatively, another's view of themselves.l
